Mini Sevens County Champions 2010

To continue with old football archives we have one of our finest days on the football pitch which happened in Westport on March 10th 2010 when the Girls won the Mayo Mini Sevens.
Initially, we beat the Knockmore schools in the first stage of competition the previous Autumn, then later we beat Crossmolina by 5-2 to 2-2 and The Quay by 6-2 to 3-5 to win the Ballina Area.
In the County Quarter final we beat Charlestown 2-2 to 1-3 and then in the Semi beat Knock, again by 2-2 to 1-3. The final against Newport was just as tight as the quarter and semi and a scoreline of 3-1 to 0-4 was enough to give us victory. This is Currabaggan’s third county success in all and our first and only Sevens title so far. In fact we are the only Knockmore school to win a County Mini Sevens ever.
Our team was: Lily Finlay, Ellen O’ Boyle, Chloe McHale, Rachel Herbert(RIP), Becky McHale, Ciara McHale, Rebecca Langan ( Captain ). Subs: Katie Holmes, Rebecca Corcoran, Róisín Langan and the injured Michaela McNamara.

North Mayo Finalists 2017

Hard luck to our girls who lost the final to Rehins on a scoreline of 2-5 to 3-0. Like last year it was a very tight hard-fought final and we didn’t score enough. However we are still very proud of our wonderful girls and look forward to next season.
