One of our 2 engineering projects we need to complete is building bridges. We started our project by talking about bridges and constructing some using only 2 sheets of paper!

On our second day of engineering the pupils had to set up a construction company and construct the strongest bridge possible. They had a €100 budget with which to buy materials. These were the materials available and their cost.

Once all of their materials were purchased they set about constructing their bridges.

In the end each bridge was tested to see if it could carry a small car , medium car and large car. There was only one group who’s bridge survived the test. Here they are:
