Under the strand Environmental Awareness & Care, 5th & 6th Class undertook to try and filter a sample of dirty water as best they could. Before we conducted our experiment we discussed water pollution, conservation, treatment and distribution in groups.

Following our discussion we took our dirty samples of water and using coffee filters, rocks, soil and sand, undertook experiment to see which material would best filter our dirty water.

In groups the water was filtered. We found that the coffee filter was the best filter. The fabric was next best, followed by the rocks and sand. The sand we used kept falling through our funnel making our sample dirtier.
