Daily Mile & Operation Transformation 10 @ 10

We have started walking a daily mile every morning, before classes start, since January this year. It is hoped it will contribute to everyone’s health and wellbeing. So far we have only missed one day due to bad weather.
On Friday 10th of Febrauary we did it at 10.00 am to correspond with Operation Transformation’s nationwide campaign ’10@10′ to get everyone exercising for at least 10 minutes.

Mayo v Monaghan Half-Time Exhibition

Our Boys football team were invited to play at half time last Saturday at Mayo’s first league game of the year. We had eleven boys in total and despite the bitter cold, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly in front of a big crowd of almost 11,000. A great experience for all and thanks to Cumann na mBunscol for the opportunity to play.

North Mayo Winners & County Finalists 2010

We haven’t had a football archive for a while so here is our Girls team of 2010. In our group, we beat Belmullet, Behy and Scoil Íosa and then drew with Rehins. We faced Rehins again in the North Mayo Final and this time beat them comprehensively by 10-07 to 1-05 on an evening where everything just went right. We faced a very tough Ballindine team in the county semi-final and eventually overcame them by 4-05 to 2-07. This put us into our 8th County Final and it was the first time we reached two finals in the same year. The Final itself, in MacHale Park, was a rematch of the Mini Sevens County Final from earlier that year but unfortunately the result wasn’t the same. This was a day when almost everything went wrong for us and despite an improved second half performance we couldn’t score enough to catch Newport and lost by 2-11 to 3-01.

Ho ! Ho ! Ho ! Merry Christmas

Santa Claus visited the younger classes today and gave everybody a selection box.
