Prehistoric Music Workshop

Pupils from 4th -6th had a visit from Simon Dwyer from Ancient Music Ireland. He began by bringing the children on a journey through the ages, starting with the earliest habitation of Ireland and progressing through the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age (first farmers) and ending in Early Medieval times.

The instruments included stone and bone whistles, stone percussion, musical bow, animal horns, bodhrán, bronze horns, Celtic trumpas and Early Medieval horns.The story ended with the coming of St. Patrick and the beginning of history.
