Scoil Pádraig Naofa, Corrabheagáin was built in 1965. Two local schools were amalgamated into Currabaggan in 1971, namely Pontoon and Carrowgarve. An extension was added to the school in 1975. This included a multi-purpose room, two classrooms and a staff-room.
Ours is a mixed school in a rural setting. It is a school with a Catholic ethos, having Bishop John Fleming of the Diocese of Killala as our patron. We welcome pupils of all faiths to our school and promote religious tolerance.
Our school is situated two miles from the village of Knockmore and five miles from Ballina town. We have a tradition of academic excellence of which we are extremely proud. Parents and pupils are at the centre of our success as a school. Parents are very supportive of all activities happening in the school.
The school has a dynamic board of management. Partnership among all parties – the board, parents, teachers and the local community has helped the school to develop into place where children are cherished.
We are fortunate in having a highly committed and talented teaching staff who always put the needs of pupils before all else.
Each child is accepted as an individual with unique gifts and abilities. Care is taken to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum for the benefit of all pupils. Diversity of abilities and cultures are celebrated.
