Paper Rockets Construction

Our next DPSM experiment was in engineering. It involved CONSTRUCTING A PAPER ROCKET !!!!

e discussed rockets and how they work. Then we watched a video to explain it a bit more about how rockets work .

We followed the steps below to construct our rockets (see below) . We first made the rocket body, then a nose cone and finally the tail fins to aid flight. We also experimented by using various tail fin designs (see below).

Once we had them constructed we went outside to the yard to test our rockets. We undertook the following 4 experiments:

Our results showed us that changing the angle of the rocket affects how far it will travel. They also showed that the further the straw in placed into the rocket and the longer the rocket the further the rocket will travel. Here are some photographs & videos of our trials.
